Welcome to the OSB Construction Law Section website.
We work with the Oregon State Bar and other organizations in the furtherance of common projects related to the legal profession, with particular emphasis on construction law. We provide CLE opportunities for local attorneys to further their professional development and provide a vehicle for local construction attorneys and industry professionals to communicate regarding important issues in Oregon construction law.
“Construction Law” is a broad brush description of the intersection of multiple disciplines that tend to apply to the construction industry, its customers and the public at large involving the construction, renovation or repair of buildings and related improvements. “Construction law,” as an area of legal specialization, may include (but is not limited to) construction contracts, construction delivery methods, contractor licensure and regulation, building codes, state and federal public procurement law, state and federal administrative law, suretyship, insurance coverage, payment and collection claims, construction defect litigation, appropriate dispute resolution and bankruptcy.
